Angola: Lucapa Diamond hopes a positive cash flow on the Lulo diamond in the June quarter

  
(Ecofin Agency) - The mining and commercial activities on the alluvial diamond in the Lulo project, Lunda Norte Province in Angola, is on track to generate a positive cash flow by the end of June quarter, 2015.

Lucapa Diamond Company Ltd, diamond listed on ASX, announced this perspective in its first quarter report released on April 8, underlining have exceeded during the reporting period the extraction and processing objectives loose gravel.

The beginning of the alluvial diamond mining in the end of January, March, 12 912 m3 of loose gravel concealing alluvial diamonds have been treated, against a target of 12,000 m3.

A total of 1,317 diamonds weighing 1,335 carats, with gems with an average size of 1.01 carat, were extracted from the loose gravel alluvial, reported the diamond company.

The diamonds are harvested, the majority of gems including type 2a, we learn, stones of 26.7 carats, 23.45 carats, 20.35 carats, 19.85 carats, 15.1 carats, 12.7 carats, 11.95 carats and 11.55 carats.

Diamond Company has Lucapa, Angola, the Lulo concession of 3,000 km2 and has held since November 2014 a license for 35 years, the alluvial diamond on an area of 218 km2 covering more than 50 km of the river Cacuilo Lulo.
