People like to point fingers on this thread, but don't like to point them at the mirror.
The continual equity issues were a bad sign, and far more damning, was management never participating in any of them.
Management never got out ahead of things, never tried to build strong alliances, and instead gambled again amd again.
It was a shrieking siren, but punters put on their ear plugs, and got back to day dreaming about multi bags, drunk on their dreams and the bad influence of those braggards they thought smarter than themselves.
We all learn lessons in the market, sometimes at a high tuition fee.
