Rapid 4-Flex is great during the Flu season for management and protection of patients and staff in hospital setting as it is desirable not to have patients with Covid in the same space as Flu patients and vice versa. It distinguishes Covid, Respiratory syncytial virus RSV and influenza A,B. All of them are viruses with similar symptoms. It takes about 1 hour + backlogs and quite faster than Multiplex analysis, 4-6 hours + backlogs. FebriDx is used to quickly differentiate bacterial infection, or the lack there of, in ten of minutes from the rest of these viruses which can be distinguished further with available analyses. So Bacterial infection would not be overlooked, undetected during busy Flu seasons and less overused of antibiotics where unnecessary! I see these are all the good tools to have for good patients care!
