From my personal perspective as a patient and a father, if I could tell my GP (who may have the test available) to give me the damn test and confirm there and then if antibiotics are needed or not, I would sit there and tell them to do it. You are paying circa $100 a visit for them to say "its just a virus" when it may in fact, not be.
Paying an additional $25 at the visit to confirm whether antibiotics are required or not would better diagnose me, limit my requirement to antibiotics (and my daughters) and improve the overall immune system.
