I'm agree with you, re: Barrick, there is nothing in it - it was a newspaper article.
With the information you have just posted, I would also assume that the Zambian government would be well aware of the processes and materials Barrick take out of the ground.

With Uranium making a surge (sorta ) the economics may be right, wether Barrick would be interested or bothered is another story, specially as the Copper prices are on a bit of a run, and the estimated US$200m cost for a Uranium processing plant back in 2010 would probably make your eyes water now.......

Wasn't it Equinox that tried to make a claim on ARE's Lumwana project tenements? and when Barrick took over Equinox they dropped the claim?
