Sounds like it isn't as economical to provide this support for small customers and it makes sense why it is better to let them go than to continue serving them when it is costing more money than the contracts is worth.
It could be for this reason that they've decided to invest more heavily into Reach as a standalone product that won't require them to react to changes from Microsoft.
