No country on earth is going to receive "back" processed dirt - given this instance, the number and type of microbes and bugs that live in Malaysia which are not in Australia creates a massive bio-security hazard for Australia. Building the C&L capability in Kalgoorlie was a direct fall-out of this problem - which Lynas signed-up for.

NOTE, there is no issue with "radioactive dirt" in this decision, Australia accepts the current science, not the witch-doctor interpretation foisted on this issue by the PRC-influenced politicians. Bio-security is an extremely significant for this wide-brown ISLAND NATION though!

Unfortunately, given the building boom and the significant shortage of workers being experienced in Western Australia, the C&L plant will "almost certainly" be delayed. I have no inside information, but a 3-4 year project will probably slip by between 6-18 months in the current climate here in WA. How long will the C&L plant be delayed by is any guess, we may get lucky, but i wouldn't be prepared to place any significant money on that bet.

Alas, I do not think that this will be enough. WHEN we get the C&L plant up and running, the PRC-influenced Malaysian politicians will invent another reason to place a halt on our proceedings, IMO we are on a conveyor belt of misery. As I tried to state in my thread that got whacked by the mods (I may have been a little frustrated by current events ) we need to leave MAL completely. C&L is just the start, once that is sorted, we can then incrementally build-out the other modules in a timely and cost-effective manner - allowing to to completely remove ourselves from the cess-pit of political corruption that Malaysia is.
