Innovative move towards getting the Kal cost base down towards LAMP, and keeping in touch with China, essential to underpinning a sustainable ROW NdFeB manufacturing base.
Govt's can level the playing field stripping 13% VAT trade manipulation, they can subsidise capital as Japan has done, but unless Lynas can present magnetic oxides downstream at a price competitive to China domestic (as they have been doing from LAMP) NdFeB manufacture will struggle to be sustainable.
While not quantified obviously strong move in the right direction, perhaps sufficient to give ILU & HAS pause for thought, sounds like an invitation.
