    You are quite right. I had heard about Redwood and think the business model is really intetesting. So much so, I became an Angle Investor of the company. My US$10K wont make or break them, but they have the technology right.

    However, the main draw back is that they are years away from scale because the material they recycle mostly comes from old cell phones, tablets, and very small comsumer goods. Imagine the cost of recycling the interior of a AA battery, or the inners of a smart phone. It will only be when the large batteries from Telsa vehicles (for example) need to be changed out that Redwood can scale in any meaningful way. The labor to get the lithium from a consumer battery is staggering high. they will really develop when they can recycle a 500-1000 lb. EV battery, which will begin in a few years as EV car batteries need replacing.

    It is the main reason the company has NOT offered an IPO.
