Interesting take on the two horse race. Found this particularly interesting:

owned by a Chinese investor, relies on Chinese technical know-how, and
sells all of its raw materials to China, generating annual revenue of about
$US100 million.
"Lynas is going to be battling through a Washington that has the Peter
Navarros and nationalist sentiment saying we shouldn't be leaning towards
an international solution," one observer told the Financial Review.
In one sign of resistance to MP Materials, the Department of Energy's Critical
Materials Institute has barred government scientists from collaborating with
the company, according to a Reuters report on Friday."
