Apex Minerals advises that Mark Bennett has stepped down as an executive director of the
Company to focus on his new role as Managing Director of Apex’s nickel spin-off, Sirius Resources.
Dr Bennett, whose new position with Sirius Resources was announced to the market on June 9,
2009, was the Director of Geology at Apex. It is envisaged that he will continue to consult to Apex
on a part time basis, via a service agreement that is being finalised. Apex’s holding in Sirius through
its shares and options would give it a 27% stake on a fully diluted basis.
Apex Managing Director Mark Ashley thanked Dr Bennett for his contribution to the Company,
saying he had developed a successful team which had recorded significant exploration success at
the Wiluna Project. This team largely originated from LionOre Mining International. Will Dix, Apex’s
Exploration Manager since 2006 and before then a key member of the LionOre exploration team for
seven years, will now assume Dr Bennett’s executive responsibilities as part of his current role and
will report directly to Mr Ashley.
