I thought it was quite good as well. Some people probably read headline articles like this which make the announcement seem like a profit warning. I find this just poor journalism.

MA Financial warns on turmoil after record quarter

Global alternative asset manager MA Financial is warning investors that persistent market volatility for an extended period may impact the transactional side of the business, especially its corporate advisory arm.

Completing transactions is likely to become more difficult if volatility – as seen in current weeks – persists. Over FY25 to date, including the first half of April, the Corporate Advisory business has remained highly active, it told investors.

As yet though, there are “no discernible direct impacts” on the business arising from this recent volatility, noting the diversified nature of the group and its positioning in alternative and largely defensive asset classes.

At the end of the March quarter, the group reported record quarterly gross inflows of $776m, ex-institutional, up 52 per cent on the prior corresponding period. Assets under management rose 7 per cent to $10.3bn with net inflows, ex-institutional, at $444m, up 22 per cent. The MA Money loan book was up 136 per cent to $2.6bn.
