At the end of the day these trapped funds are a good source of income for MFG at 1.35% plus a performance fee. I don't think the investors are "scammed" either with dilution paid by Magellan and a historically statistically good investment performance. The funds restructure will naturally have some slight teething problems but long term will be a good thing with a simplified investment structure (less costs) and easier process to apply for the open ended Global Fund via ETF or old application process.
For disclosure I am happy owning both MFG and MGF and glad I topped up at around $47.60
