So now we are comparing how the market is viewing a company with a large portfolio of both mature and growth assets with one that is pre-revenue with development costs ahead of it that exceed its market cap and has 1 small, albeit quite tidy project? lol. Santos have their own issues at the moment and the market knows this... there is pressure on them to sell one of their sizable assets (Alaska maybe?) to free up some much needed cash.
I don't think or believe that anything I could say here would move the share price. You're on the money that Santos seem to be the one dragging their heels on this one. Ask yourself why? No-one has unlimited funds to invest, need to develop the best first and the less attractive stuff can wait. In the case of COI maybe they are finally starting to get to the front of the queue after so many years.
Downramping? Is that what you call discussion when it is not aligned with your opinion? Has anyone here thought to question why COI don't present or report much about expected full project costs? About their expected NPV and economics for all of or each phase of the project? You say that COI have the support to go through to production... would you be happy with dilution around the size of their current market cap? At what price would they need to raise funds at to be attractive to and have enough upside for investors? I would honestly be shocked if anyone other than Santos ends up with the gas here but you are right, who knows. It could be Gina
