I take your point, but I think paying a div is an interesting idea.

Firstly, I hope it shows management have the confidence that they can pay a div and sustain the business (just because you can pay a dividend doesn't mean that your business will continue to grow and SP rise. See: telstra).

Secondly, while I can see Oracle's point that NST has made the occasional odd move at the corporate level, to me this could be a good move in this market because relatively new growth companies that pay dividends are a rare breed at the moment and there's a chance the div will pull out all the Buffett acolytes and the SP will hopefully rise from its current multiple.
