Personally, I don't believe in having stop losses on speculative stocks. It is normal for these stocks to get dumped 30% for no good reason. Particularly, stocks with low liquidity. One big seller, and your stop loss will get hit easily. Brokers know this and often look to push prices lower than certain threshold on the chart like Fibs, support levels, whole numbers, etc. Too easy.
In my experience, speculative stocks are conviction holds. If the fundamentals are strong, then there is no reason to sell. Paper losses are part of the game. Important to keep track of what's happening with the company, the progress being made, milestones being met on time, etc. For this reason people often say only invest what you can afford to lose.
