it is a bad setup, I agree.
i’ve seen that gold bonus you mention at other miners, mostly in WA.. When it is above a budget price, they get paid extra. Don’t know if cyl would bring it in but since they are getting 80-90% of their oz from plutonic now, it could make sense.
one thing in my mind if I was there is the situation from xstrata and their collinsville operation back around 2010. Miners went on strike claiming they were paid 40k less than people down the road at Mooranbah. They carried on like idiots for months; Finally Xstrata agrees to increase wages. 3 months later they shut it claiming it was unprofitable and it was offline for 12 months. At which point they rehired everyone at their original rates. Moral of the story- negotiate in good faith and don’t just demand more money because the company can just shut you down
