Management got an exploration company with too many projects (expensive phorphy) in both Colombia and PNG, and not enough cash to explore.
Colombia offer was opportunistic, but they probably thought it would be better than raising cash again at the lows.
Either way, they may have woken up to the fact Colombian assets are worth a lot more and competing bidders are going to pay up if they want to have it.
Next few weeks are going to be very exciting...
