Have watched and brooded. Have been here twice myself so nothing but empathy. The moral of the story is that sometimes lots of noise is a buying opportunity and sometimes it's a harbinger of bad things to come. The trick is to discern the difference. My view - and it's far from novel as others have said it many times - is that from the moment the resource came in significantly under predictions by way of grade, it was time to exit. The rest (both company and shareholders) was scrambling to avoid the worst.
