I owned Phoslock (PHK) many years ago and I have had it on my watchlist for years but failed to re-enter. Interestingly, I played golf on the Gold Coast in 2007 with a guy (I subsequently found out) who was the surveyor who found the major deposits for Queensland Gas. In addition he was one of their Top 20 shareholders. He was driving me to golf each day and we started talking stocks. I remember he recommended Phoslock and King Minerals. I invested a few thousand in each. Kings Minerals was later renamed Cerro Resources and delisted in 2013.

I sold Phoslock at 10 cents (made a loss) and have watched with various degrees of envy as it has taken off in the last couple of years.

Maybe my old "multi-millionaire" chauffeur knew something. Unfortunately, I didn't put my stock holding in Phoslock in the bottom draw for long enough. It would be worth a pretty penny nowadays.

Anyway, just reminiscing about one that got away.
