This is further confirmation of the reformist mood in SI to ensure they derive maximum benefit from their resources. Transparent decision making and land tenure rights are headland issues right now and the judges would be well aware of the peoples growing desire in this regard.
Thus this ain't no ordinary Appeal. IMO there's much more to it than is readily apparent - one poster cited Mabo, another suggested past deals - and I suspect the judges will be taking extra care with their deliberations. And extra time, fully aware of whats at stake.
History may come to judge this a ground breaking case for the SI. Good luck to them, they need it.
