Take NST for example. AISC has gone up by only about $300 AUD in 2024.
In the case of RMS, even better. AISC stayed flat in 2024 (red circle).
But, the gold price has gone up by more than $1500 AUD. We are talking about a profit margin of more than $1000 AUD.
So what is the true value of our in ground gold?
Many would still use the ancient default of $100/ounce in ground. But I can hardly see that as acceptable in the year 2025. If the margin has increased this significantly don’t you think that we should be looking at say $500 per ounce?
