re: Ann: MAK Invests in Phosphoric Acid Produ... Regulator, thanks. So no cost savings on avoiding having a gas pipeline, but maybe they can use the gas in the kilns instead of electricity? If they can really concentrate the H3PO4 up, then the transport savings in moving a higher value lower bulk product (density of phophate sediment in Namibia was 1.6 x that of water?, and the density of H3PO4 perhaps is similar to water?) then they can use road tankers to transport the stuff quite economically without the need for all that railway building capex?
My chemistry isn't good enough to know how far they can concentrate the phosphoric acid up to cut down costs of transporting a load water mixed in with the H3PO4, but today's announcement sounds very good news indeed.
