Without doubt most African countries are subjected to corruption from Authorities/politicians. The military in Guinea has identified this practice and by its action ( coupe) hopes to appoint leaders who can make a difference to the country and its inhabitants. The good news is that it sees mining as a vital commodity and will not disrupt operations and initiatives.
LIN and Volt Chairman has roots, family and key contacts in Tanzania. I am sure that his associates know who to trust in high places without compromising his integrity. My understanding is that there has been a change of key politicians recently. Hopefully they will deliver stability and remove corrupt personnel from key positions.
As for Malawi... its difficult to determine what impact corruption has in the judiciary and politics. We can only hope that LIN is successful in its Appeal where more than one judge will determine the fate of the Saner/RVR dispute. No use in speculating why the LIN decision went against the company when its lawyers from a reputable firm were so confident.
I remain commited to Lin and Volt and await the benefits from my investments.
