Lithium ion is a type of salt-ion? If we’re talking about sodium-ion batteries. They may be cheaper, but their charge per density isn’t as great as sodium is a heavier element. Thus you’ll either get less range for the same space as a lithium iron battery. Or you’ll have a bulkier and heavier car. Might work well in a transition stage. But lithium is already so far ahead. It probably won’t take off. Or people will want the premium lithium ion cars
