The smelter (HISmelt) was not my idea, Taylor Washington and Wright came up with when they teamed up at csiro many years ago. My non role was at the front of the cheer squad when it came to replacing coke breeze with wood char. Worked a treat, not stickiness in the injectors and SOx went to zero.
It’s been slowly developed and there’s now a few players eg MGU - I’m a small shareholder) but nothing I know of in Australia or with the big 4……. Yet.
