Kevin did NOT get spanked and he is not going anywhere - if you have followed this company closely you will understand that its success is directly attributable to the technical aspect of achieving high recoveries and high grades - this is Kevins field of expertise and he, and he virtually alone, has been the guiding light in improving these things at both Mt Carbine and Saloro.

As his January 14 announcement stated, his role to focus on the technical side of mining operations as CTO was ".... in line with its growth strategy...".

With the Nov 18 announcement about the acquisition of Tungsten Mining and the FeW plant in Vietnam, this was adding another aspect of operation to EQR' strategy that Kevin has no direct skills in - his skills are in metallurgy, mining operations, and extracting the high recovery and grades to produce the feedstock to go into the FeW smelting process.

For Kevin to continue on as CEO for this additional acquisition would mean that his time would be further stretched and therefore his "skill contribution" diluted to the detriment of the company and shareholders.

If you dont believe me about the importance of recoveries and grades, just take a closer look at the UK's Tungsten West operation and G6M who just yesterday entered a "long term suspension" phase as reported on ASX - Basically, THEY ARE GONE !

EQR is not going down this path because of Kevins skill sets which need to continue to be focussed where most needed - its now up to the BoD to find a CEO who has the appropriate skill sets to straddle ALL aspects of a tungsten mining and FeW processing operation. This is what the January 14 announcement referred to - "in line with its growth strategy" - and nothing else.

Every time there is a change of any kind, posters come out of the woodwork, and shreak in horror and want blood - its absolutely sickening to think that these guys think they know better. EQR will find a good CEO to head up this company and with Kevin retained in their as CTO we will all be kicking goals.

Andrew Mooney's departure, after such a short period, is completely unrelated and does not, in itself, reflect negatively on anything going on at Board level - my guess is he will pop up somewhere else soon

I basically posted this message on Jan 14 and I have copied below -
