No I don't think he was pushed. It was clear from the various documents that he was principal driver of lawyers and administrators, certainly in the early stages. In fact, I think that was the reason he was anointed ... he at least knew what had to happen. If anything, my concern is that his 'ethics' persona may have been getting uncomfortable as discussions of a prospective 'settlement' started to take shape
