IMO this seems like a very deliberate change. I don't think Ms Smith is just a quick, panic replacement. I think the board/investors wanted a woman as CEO and Ms Smith has the skills, knowledge of the sector and now the knowledge of the company to fill that role. Mr Woodall saw the writing on the wall and left 'amicably'. Regardless she has much more experience than the Lynas CEO/MD.
