Ian’s initial tenure was only meant to last five years, subject to review. My take is that, with the production forecast hiccups and a couple of lawsuits hitting us along the way, the baton was passed to Paul—who has a deep, inside-out understanding of the operations.
Ian did a solid job taking things from care and maintenance to where we are now, but I think the market’s confidence in his long-term leadership took a hit due to those setbacks.
