280k for a mechanical engineer who is making revenue is much more efficient use of capital than a ceo of a business that has been a round for 10 yrs and has generated nothing.

how about they pay them selves $50k aud and rather than bonus shares they can have a higher wage when they reach set milestones.

at least this way there is some incentive to do something.
