Maybe the strategy is to throw enough mud at the actions of the majors to potentially cause political problems for them. So that they are better off just buying us to shut the board up and they can go about their business in their own time.

I don’t mind it as long as it works and they don’t blackball us!

Clearly we have something of value but they have no urgency to acquire it. If we have the weaker hand we need to try and manufacture the urgency.
