    I think the answer to a lot of your queries lies in this chart below.

    Santos have had no issues procuring domestic gas to fill their LNG commitments in the past because east coast domestic gas prices have been tame relative to LNG markets - this is changing, Santos are having to pay up for east coast gas - to the tune of $20/GJ. Likewise for APLNG - they weren't really short gas and this resource at the time of sale was far below their thresholds when it comes to scale - plus prices were depressed when all the negotiations occurred.

    Liddell power station closes in April - that's 9TWh of baseload electricity gone - equivalent of ~70PJ's of gas. You'll then have a bunch of other baseload generators winding down in the back half of the decade and the solution/replacement seems to be gas + renewables rather than Nuclear or some other form of energy. I think east coast gas markets remain tight for some time and the price will be on par with LNG net back.
