A lot of effort is going into building stronger connections during this China Australia Year of Tourism.
At the closing event for the year, 100 Australian tourism firms will come up to Guangzhou to promote their businesses, and to network. They will include a significant group of “ultra-high-end” — really expensive — operators, since the Chinese uptake of luxury products, such as elite lodges and wineries, is accelerating fast, says O’Sullivan.

Jetstar plans to resume nonstop services between Australia and China with twice weekly flights to Zhengzhou in partnership with a Chinese travel company.
The flights will commence in December 2017 with 335-seat Boeing 787-8 equipment, Jetstar said on Wednesday. The exact start date was not disclosed.
