The Hon. Mark Vaile was appointed to the VAH Board as a Director on 22 September 2008.
Mark is Chairman of Whitehaven Coal Ltd, Palisade’s Regional Infrastructure Fund and Australia Korea Business Council and was previously Chairman of CBD Energy Ltd. Mark is a Director of Stamford Land Corporation Ltd, HostPlus Superfund Ltd, SmartTrans Holdings Ltd and Servcorp Ltd.
In 2012 Mark was appointed an Officer in the Order of Australia in the Queen’s birthday honours list.
Mark was a Member of the Australian Parliament from 1993 to 2008. He was Deputy Prime Minister (2005-2007), Minister for Trade (1999-2006), Minister for Transport and Aviation (1997-1998, 2006-2007) and Minister for Agriculture (1998-1999).
