I am not sure whether you are asking a rhetorical question here and I don't have subscription to couriermail so i have not read the explanation given by VGI.
However, I would suspect that they did it so that they can sell CTD shares through that company in order to give the market a mistaken impression that the MD is dumping shares. I think they were hoping this would create a snowball effect sending CTD shares into a free fall.
I am not sure whether you are asking a rhetorical question here...
