How are you suggesting they finance mining if we get to that stage? How are you going to get the money? Because you have two options here, either a cap raise or a JV. In both cases that means dilution. With the added stability that a JV with a top tier gives you, versus the uncertainty of just raising money and hoping that the management actually turns an exploration project into a mine (which is not easy at all).
Being this a secondary project, I am very happy with this JV.
