I won't jump around and deny the SP has been on a downwards slope in recent months, however one thing worth considering with the SP movement over the last few weeks is the old "Sell in May, Buy in November" adage.

Not a method I personally believe in (death by a thousand cuts), but looking at the stock market overall, there's a lot of red going on at the moment. I'd say this is certainly playing in to the current poor SP performance.
