It is a good Ann, and lays some foundations for development into Europe. Obviously it will be interesting how this tweaks Europe's interest. The key in the announcement is the '
establishment of a 5000 ha sequestration plantation'. AVZ is trying to be carbon neutral but nothing will make you carbon neutral in production IMO as you will always produce carbon - the sequestration plantation is your 'credit' for saying your project has 0 carbon emissions (i.e. planting trees is a key even in Australia for project proponents aiming to be carbon neutral).
But in effect what AVZ is doing is essentially trying to be as carbon neutral as possible and then use the plantation to balance the rest. Seems to be trying the VUL approach - been provide a carbon neutral plan to attain Europe's (further) interest.
Will be interesting how the SEZ is developing as well etc etc, but as I posted in the past here FID must be had here end 2nd quarter (a date in the quarterly which AVZ is now also targeting) to ensure production can start in their stated timeline - last paragraph and embedded post Post #:

As an aside, a few in the LTR thread are also having a bit to say today on the likelihood of AVZ getting after a comment by their MD. IMO the fact the MD specifically mentions Africa/AVZ suggest too me they see it as 'competition' but that is IMO and people need to make up their own mind on my view, and obviously AVZ (like LTR) has to go through a few more hoops before either can claim to be a miner (albeit with a DFS out, Offtake with Ganfeng, ticking a few boxes I suggest AVZ is looking very promising obviously)
