Wearables are one thing, but as you pointed out, Telehealth and Digital Medicine is where the game starts to get interesting. The ConneQt wearable band is only one part, though an integral part, of Craig Cooper's overall Telehealth strategy.
Telehealth and Digital medicine are also a big part of President Xi Jinping's current Five Year Plan.
As for the apparently vexed issues surrounding IP, it wasn't a problem for Google when they became a shareholder in Mobvoi, at the same time making them Google's in-house partner in China.
It won't be a problem for Craig Cooper and CardieX.
