Today I had to bring my diabetic cat Pablo to the vet to get a fortnightly check up on his blood sugar levels to work out the right dose of insulin. This check up takes the whole day and Pablo has to stay in the vet to get his blood sugar checked every hour. Every hour an injection and guess what? Pablo freaked out and the vet needed 2 helpers to hold him down to extract blood. The result, a freaked out cat, the readings went through the roof because he wasn't relaxed and on top of this a 200$ bill. When I picked up Pablo in the evening I talked to the vet and we talked about alternatives. The first option he came up with was a sensor which you stick or implant on/in Pablo and there is a handheld reader which gives you his blood sugar levels in a relaxed home environment with accurate readings which can be transferred to the vet through an app....Wow...I thought... Tele health for animals, reliable, accurate, at home , stressless for Pablo and much cheaper for me. Only brilliant...Pablo reckons too
