I'm not too familiar with Ag recoveries and the history of Wonawinta but the announcement says that the high-level exploration strategic review is mostly complete but they are awaiting some specific sampling and test work being done by experts/consultants/labs. If these are assays or metallurgical or orebody characterization type studies, then I can't see how they claim the review is almost complete because any good or adverse results from this met test work (or actual assay results?) will affect the exploration plan and the economics of anything going forward?
It's like saying you have planned your drill holes but are just awaiting the assay results from the last bunch of rock/soil samples or previous drill results, seems like total nonsense to be claiming to have a review almost complete when you don't even have all the data yet.
Reading from the last Quarterly Report I am guessing that Mt Boppy has had all the easy-to-access ore mined so will require a cutback at the moment, and probably Wonawinta pretty heavy going as well with wet clayey ore and recoveries and a lower Ag price I am maybe reading between the lines here that MKR is laying the groundwork for a cessation of mining and a return to exploration and resource drilling while inflation/ LaNina, labour shortages, low silver prices and stockpiles at Wonawinta continue to under-deliver. Probably not a bad idea if the operations are chewing up money, as I think they have some good exploration ground, and might require a stop to the continued focus on operational problems and step back and find some better orebodies?
