A hundred kilometres to haul ore to a processing plant seems a long way, if a three trailer rig is allowed on the roads the cost will be reduced, road trains can't be used within a certain distance from major towns. A costly method would be by conveyor much like gas is piped over long distances if that were possible and allowed. Talking about the gold here, good rich veins for high returns would make transport costs more palatable.
