Yes and no, it largely depends on what activities are to take place.
It's true that the minerals are crown, however the surface land is not and they (owners) have some rights. For minimally invasive exploration activities like this however the legislation provides access, though typically an access agreement is negotiated and some compensation is given (even if not necessary in a legal sense). This might extend to options to purchase the land afterwards etc.
Nothing to be concerned about at all, government, both federal and state are extremely exploration friendly.
