As I understand it the good thing about the interest from fund managers are that a lot of these funds have charters and are obliged to hold a certain amount of that stock as a percentage when it enters the asx300 then 200 and 100 . As the price increases they sell to keep the same percentage which makes the stock a lot more stable.
