The average figure itself is probably not very meaningful - revenues might depend on the size distribution of pearls more than the average, ie prices are much higher for a relatively small number of larger pearls. It’s the fact that the average is increasing that matters, more than the precise figure. (A rising average will be associated with higher average prices, and hence revenues.)
