So, in other words (and please correct me if I am wrong), EGR intend benchmarking our purification process against all other available purification processes within each prospective juridstiction to provide an assessment of our competitiveness on a "regionalised" cost basis?
The only bit I am still a bit vague on is the latter part of the statement: "... to inform EGR's purification development strategy"
The last word should really be "strategists". So far, the only strategy that seems different to all others is EGR's plan of segregating the shaping process and locating it in Tanzania. Both the CAPEX and OPEX numbers have yet to be crunched for that proposal. This is what could give us a competitive edge on a costs basis (given that there are alternate processes inc HF-free types of proceses).
Separating the purification and shaping processes could be a prove a very attractive point of difference. I am hoping that this will be the case. Savings in areas such as labour, shipping and construction could be a real winner here. Tanz labour - cheaper... Shipping graphite a tenth in volume - cheaper... and Constructing one shaping facility instead of several - has to cheaper! Good strategy that our strategists just have to benchmark and hopefully already have done so.
