A down day; though I note it is on very low volume so far which is a ‘good’ thing. However; I’m not familiar with daily volume patterns.

I often do figures of returns on my gold stocks. I am very much up on the returns over the past ten years as against say, Commonwealth Bank. Just taking NST into account, if I had invested the same amount of initial outlay in CBA at the time, I would have only had a very small number of shares. My initial investment was in Saracen at a low cost. Despite the consolidation with ‘merger’, the return is, dare I say, far in excess of what a CBA holding would have been. Dividends have been factored in.

It’s come with some nail biting times but the goal was to hold on for the longer term. I just don’t get how non-performance claims can be made so often here on Hot Copper. Not meaning any disrespect here as, like the biotechs, I guess it is very much stock specific. I have been both ‘lucky’ and ‘unlucky’ in this sector over the past 20 years but even so, I’m still very much in front.

Just hope I don’t jinx myself with this post …
