    The point that you seem to have missed is that the applicable rate may be 30 % but that is not what the ATO will receive. That was the erroneous inference from the post by abs I commented upon.

    The deductions, as for all exploration and mineral processing companies, are, and will continue to be, significant and future expenses will increase those tax deductions as indicated. Have a look at BHP and RIO's effective tax rate. Not quite google but not what workers pay.

    I agree paying income tax is good as it proves profitability but I don't think we will be paying anywhere near the company 30% tax on the income received. More likely to be a bit more than dividend rate if majors are the guide.
