Its a real thing - I had a KPI linked to my bonus that had specific gender and diversity metrics. "If two apply for the same job with equal skills/qualifications you will hire based on diversity".
Well they broke even because of a minority, non controlling stake in a Lithium mine. So basically just like Tropicana, but a smaller % and a mining method no-one at IGO really has much direct experience in.
I do struggle to see the value in this company nowadays - I mean its the stake in Greenbushes that creates the value, what if you could cut that out from the rest? What value would you place on the rest? RIO/ALB - what don't you buy the Lithium business?!
A private equity group will grab the Nickel/Exploration business for a song and sit tight for 5 years...
